1. Choosing the floor
The floor is one of the most interesting design elements in any office. You can choose from a wide range of floors, it is important to opt for a strong and durable model, with a look to your taste. For example, if you choose a triple layered parquet, it will contribute to the thermal and sound insulation of the room, will be easy to maintain and is available in a variety of colors and wood species, such as oak, beech, ash, spruce, fir or Pine tree.
2. Choice of lighting fixtures
It’s no secret that natural light is ideal for any activity, which is also true when it comes to the home office. However, if the space is not provided with generously sized windows, you can use artificial light. In addition to the classic ceiling luminaires, if you feel the need, you can also add a light source to the work table. Thus, you can choose the light intensity and you can use the respective source whenever you need more light, but you do not want to disturb those around you. It is a recommended solution especially if you arrange your office in the living room, or other rooms that you share with your loved ones.
3. Positioning of the office
It is usually recommended that the office be placed facing the window or an open space, with its back to the wall. This way, you will not feel fenced or blocked. Besides, it is not the best idea to position the office close to the door, because you risk being interrupted very often.
4. Arrange a space for all gadgets
It’s easy to get distracted when there’s no manager around, especially if you have a number of gadgets on hand. Even the presence of the phone near the workspace can significantly reduce productivity, especially if you are overusing it in your free time.
Most likely, you don’t want to waste hours playing on your phone or tablet instead of dealing with the tasks you have. So, you can organize a space where you can put all these devices and use them only when you are on break or after you have finished your work.
